曾特首中英文競選口號分別是「我會做好呢份工」與「I'll get the job done」。中文版的「打工仔心態」已經被人笑過了﹐臭豬我就說說那句「I'll get the job done」吧。

如果將「我會做好呢份工」直譯﹐我會寫 I'll do the job right (類似雞上校的‘We do chicken right’﹖﹗) I'll do this job well / I'll do well in this job 而不是「I'll get the job done」。反過來說﹐「I'll get the job done」的意思也不像「我會做好呢份工」﹐反而近似「我搞得掂」哦...

我覺得嘛﹐中文版中的「呢份工」無疑是指特首這份「工作」﹐但英文版中的「the job」就「精彩」得多了~﹗英文「Get the job done」中的「the job」通常不是指某份工 / 某個職位﹐而是說某項任務 / 某件工作吧﹖﹗
那個「the job」是甚麼﹑曾蔭權又向誰拍心口保證「I'll get the job done」呢﹖大家慢慢想象啦 :P

話又說回來﹐英文老師教落﹐「The XXX」是指某一特定的事物﹐那「I'll get the job done」就是「我會做好呢件工作」吧。

想說「我搞得掂」﹐應該寫成「I get jobs done」。

俗得不行﹐感覺像萬能膠的宣傳口號 ^_^;

不是 'Who say I can't get things done?'
而是 'And you said I couldn't get things done.'

好呀！如果中文係"我會搞掂"我就真係服左佢。 但係，BTW(死都講番句英文)，外國人睇到，又真係="我會搞掂"一樣？選特首喎，豈不貽笑大方？

扮雞上校可以話「I do the job right」。 「我會做好呢份工」都可以寫為「I'll get the job well done」。 但其實應該將呢兩句睇成為將英文譯為中文，而唔係將中文譯為英文。因為係有英文嗰句先。
